The Directors were keen to establish the quality of the cricket bat willow being grown at the Wood Wood plantation. Even though the trees are still not big enough to produce a full sized bat made entirely of willow, the trunks are of a size sufficient to make a bat of part heart wood and part willow. The result was very promising. The colour is very good and the rebound quality very promising. The directors are very appreciative of Gray-Nichols for drying the willow and making the cricket bat.
